The current style of accreditation for Advanced/Senior Faculty is not about how well you can have participants engaged in their own deep learning, rather it is about how well you can role play and how well you can talk about the theory.

In a time when we know so much more about learning and how it happens, do we need to concentrate more on the way in which the instructor facilitates this learning? If people learn more, they understand more and are more likely to apply it to their lives.

Demonstrating/modelling a role play is one strategy to teach. The learning that occurs from modelling is minimal according to research. Being a facilitator of learning is much more than modelling. How can we design an accreditation process that demonstrates this ability, particularly as we are looking more at diversified training for specific groups?
